Nepal Tri-Series series with Malaysia and the Netherlands announced. The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has announced a T20I triangle series next month in Kathmandu.

Issuing a press release on Friday, CAN announced that the hosts will play the Netherlands and Malaysia at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground from April 17-24.

The three participating partner teams will be seen in action for the first time in an international series since the global outbreak of COVID-19, with the teams set to play a double series of all against all and the top two playing a final. The series is sponsored by Bajaj Pulsar.

The love and passion for the game among Nepalese fans is unmatched in any partner nation, and after a year since ICC CWC League Two matches, local fans will witness their beloved heroes play an international series in home after a tough battle against COVID. The visiting teams have also exchanged their joy for the series in an announcement.

“With the reduction in COVID cases and the resumption of national competitions from 2020, it is an ideal time to bring International Cricket back to Nepal. Spring weather also presents excellent conditions in Kathmandu, ”the ad reads.

The Netherlands have named a 14-man young team, and the tour will provide key preparation for the T20 World Cup in India this October. Dutch players at County Cricket will not be on the road, with a chance for fringe talents to claim their spots.

Dutch coach Ryan Campbell is excited to travel and face the challenges of an overseas tour.

“After not playing since November 2019, I am delighted with the announcement of the Tri Series in Nepal. The guys have worked so hard for over a year with so much uncertainty about when our next game will be.

“Playing Nepal and Malaysia in Nepal will present us with an extremely difficult re-entry to World Cricket, but it is a challenge we are looking forward to.”
